The next Operation Safe Driver Week is scheduled for July 12-18, 2026.
Operation Safe Driver Week event is held in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This year, the focus will be on improving driving behaviors through education, traffic enforcement strategies, and law enforcement interactions.
“Data shows that traffic stops and interactions with law enforcement help reduce problematic driving behaviors,” said Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) President Sgt. John Samis with the Delaware State Police. “By making contact with drivers during Operation Safe Driver Week, law enforcement personnel aim to make our roadways safer by targeting high-risk driving behaviors.”
What Happens During the CVSA Operation Safe Driver Week?
During Operation Safe Driver Week, law enforcement officers across Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. will be monitoring both commercial and passenger vehicle drivers for unsafe driving practices, including speeding, distracted driving, tailgating, and driving under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances. Drivers found engaging in these behaviors will be stopped by law enforcement and may receive a warning or citation.
